Logitech Control Center 2.1.2

Attention Logitech mouse and keyboard users: the Logitech Control Center has been updated to version 2.1.2. This system preference pane enables you to program special features of various Logitech mouse and keyboard combinations. Above are the setting for my Logitech MX Revolution. Some have reported problems with this upgrade, but there has been nothing but smooth sailing on my MacBook.

The Logitech Control Center is free and supports OS X 10.2.8 through 10.4.8 on both Intel and PPC Macs.

That's what I've always done in the past. I was just glad that 2.1.2 simplified the process. Which is important to me since another bug with LCC is that it forgets my settings quite often.

Well, I'm just a new user, and may not have gotten everything right, but, when I hooked up my MX310 and installed mouseware, I couldn't set up the right mouse button to match the secondary function of the regular mighty mouse. I tried working with modifier keys, but, couldn't get that button to work the same. Got dashboard and expose working though...

SterrMouse wins over the LCC any day. And when paired with SizzlingKeys for iTunes, I have my tilt wheel and extra buttons (when used with modifier keys on the keyboard) to control iTunes with my mouse (a simple right-tilt skips a track) and it handles all 3 levels of expose and dashboard on one button (with modifier keys) and browser navigation.

Well worth the $20.

A correction to my self: You need to assign the mouse button to F9, of course, not Exposé.

You can tweak LCC 2.1.1 to Exposé & Dashbord. First you go to the Exposé control panel and remove the F9-function for Exposé; next you go to the LCC center and assign whatever button you wish to Exposé. Then go back to Exposé control panel and once again you assign F9 to Exposé - voila!

Logitech software sucks. Period. I have an MX310... the mouse itself is great, but the software is pure butt. I plan on getting a MacAlly mouse soon, since their software is the best in the market for Mac peripherals, and the products themselves are great as well. If only Logitech could code decent software for the Mac...

I've switched back to 2.1.1 because 2.1.2 was causing my system to boot extremely slow. Even after bootup it took about 2-3 minutes for the system to start running smoothly again. That's not normal for a 2.16Ghz C2D with 2GB RAM.

Never had any problems with version 2.1.1 and found that is was fully customizable for my MX Revo.

This may sound stupid - but how do I know which version I am running?
