Who is excited about Macworld? I know I am, and just to fuel the excitement Jesper has created the MWSF 2007 Countdown Widget (I took the above screenshot a few hours ago).
TUAW will be giving Macworld the full court press with a number of our bloggers, including yours truly, pounding the show floor looking for the cool stuff that the other sites have missed. It is going to be great, and it is only a week away!

^Matt, in all seriousness, good for you. I sincerely hope you have a great experience making the switch. I know I did. Happy new year, and good luck.

Hey, if you guys are covering macworld again this year...don't do the 'live bloging' thing, it is so lame and a huge load on your web servers. How about a jabber group chat? It's built into iChat and you guys can be setup as the only member in the room with the abailty to speak.
Be cool, do it the 'Mac' way with iChat :-)

Awww I hate the widgets that are made with Dashcode because it's so easy to tell that it's just a template. Same with iWeb sites... pshh :(

can this widget fast-forward the time continuum?
otherwise i wouldn't have any use for this because, luckily, my birthday is on jan 9th. oh well, now i don't have to count the days by analogically watching on my hardware (printed on paper) calendar. :)

alej744: Yep, it's made with Dashcode. Is there a point beyond this that you're trying to make? Are the templates old and worn out already? Does the final result look ugly?

cool looking widget. now how about a similar widget for the rest of us where we can input whichever hyper-important event title and date...?
thanks

@Jesper: Alej744 is just being pretentious, ignore it. Nice widget.

I've also got a countdown on this site i just made. I made the site to try to encourage those in attendance to share the experience for those of us who can't make it.
http://sharemacworld.com
The idea is: if people use their camera phones to take pictures throughout the week, they can submit them here & everyone who joins will be able to see an ongoing time line of events from MacWorld through the eyes of (hopefully) many different people.
If it catches on (and I've already got some friends in attendance planning to use it) then it'll be a neat way for people who aren't there to get to feel the full experience, in real time, from a variety of point of views.
It should be like a shared stream of consciousness from MWSF.
