iClip 4 beta released to MacHeist customers
Customers of the MacHeist bundle should be receiving an email offering a download link for the new iClip 4 beta that was promised. This is a new version that John Casasanta is apparently just about ready to release next week at the Macworld expo, and users are encouraged to help track down bugs and submit them to a bug reporting link provided in the MacHeist email.I can't help but wonder if Kevin Finisterre and "LMH" are getting their hands on a copy so they can sensationalize any bugs they find.

Well it's now Jan 17th, Mac World EXPO has come and gone and there is still no iClip4 beta or other version for anyone outside the MH community. I Feel quite taken especially since back in July they had posted a Late Fall release of V.4. I'm stuck because of a software/Driver conflict I'm having with iClip 3.7 having to use Rosetta, I've had to restrict using iClip except for specific occasions. Does anyone know of a similar program that is Intel Mac friendly?? Please email me if you do without running rosetta.

I guess I am shocked that it's taken so long to get out, but then again, it's not a huge upgrade. Nice new look, exact same functionality as before. No need to get bent out of shape, you'll still be getting the free upgrade.

if i were an existing iClip customer, i might feel slighted too. but iClip 4--the FINAL version--is coming out next week, and a week isn't much longer to wait for a tested and finished 4.0 version of the program. hang in there, you have it coming to you....just not the beta.
I also was promised a free upgrade to v4 upon release. But I guess we're not part of the supposedly fantastic (and now almost 100% gone) MacHeist shareware community.

January 05 2007 at 1:19 PM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyI bought iclip over a year ago with the promise of the iclip4 upgrade. I have been a loyal user. I wonder why the macheist users get the beta?
What about the early buyers before the macware giveaways started.
iclip4 has been long awaited. I feel a little jipped.
a hacker could craft a maliciously-crafted GIF image that if copied to the iClip clipboard, could overflow the buffer and EXECUTE ARBITRARY CODE! it's true! in fact, i've crafted this comment in such a way that i'm executing ARBITRARY CODE on your Mac RIGHT NOW as you're reading this! there, i just reorganized your iPhotos by roll instead of date! now your Address Book contacts are all named "Sputnik"! i have no idea what i'm doing! it's all ARBITRARY! and MALICIOUS!
