Keynote Bingo for Macworld 07

These two Macworld 07 Keynote Bingo card generators almost make me wish I wasn't going to be live-blogging said keynote; it would be *so* much fun to be able to leap up and shout bingo in the middle of, say, the 30-inch iMac introduction. Of course, the subsequent beatdown from the surrounding fellow Mac nerds probably wouldn't be quite as much fun, but boy would it be worth it. I'm not really sure what the difference is between the two - I simply found them via Ranchero's blog. Fortunately, they both seem to offer the ability to create a card based on a random number you pick; that way you can re-print cards later to prove to your own fellow Mac nerds (that is, if they didn't beat you down) that you truly did score.

Have fun! Just don't blame us for any resulting bruises or hospital bills.

If you’re itching for randomized bingo cards of your very own, I created an online card randomizer that uses the same set of strings as Peter Hosey’s app mentioned on John Siracusa’s blog.

And I'm the author of the first, at least the programming part. :-)
I added print functionality some days ago, but I don't remember if it's in the one att iskub.sippan.se/bingo/ . If you want to use the print feature, use the most recent release at http://hannesp.se/hemlis/MW_BINGO.zip
(And yes, I know that the title bar of the window is printed to, but I don't feel for fixing it. Because it's Cocoa, this was a 5-second-fix, which consists of making a few mouse clicks. Take it, or leave it :-P)

I'm the author of the second of those. :)

I just released 1.0.1 a few minutes ago, which simply adds a few more predictions, bringing my total from 178 to 186 (including “Boom”, the iPod phone, Steve in turtleneck+jeans, and the tablet Mac). The other implementation has 50, as noted on its website. In addition, mine can be printed (it works by generating a PDF); the other cannot. I will concede that the other one has more Aqua goodness to it. ;)

Keep in mind that both implementations are randomized. Just because you don't see something in the screenshot above, or in the board that you get, doesn't mean it isn't available in the app. This is especially true of my implementation.

And Scott F (re: Steve in turtleneck+jeans in the center square): Indeed. Too bad it isn't 100% anymore, since he wore that shiny shirt at the “It's Showtime” event. Still, I may do that for WWDC 2007…

There is a "boom" square... there's 50 squares in the pool, but only 25 of them is picked out of it.

What about "Boom"? That should be on the card at least four times!

Nope, first link doesn't work for me either. It just sits there until the browser times out.
