Better and cheaper iPod screens from Philips
Now this I want. At CES 2007, Philips introduced two new iPod gadgets, the DCP750 and the DCP850 which allow you to dock your iPod and watch your video on a 7-inch or 8.5-inch screen. You can use the included car adapter, so you can watch video in your car on these nicely sized screens, or you can use the rechargeable battery (also included) that offers about two plus hours of playtime. When plugged in, your docked iPod will recharge. Both units also allow you to view photos from memory cards and play DVDs. (S)VCDs and DivX-on-disc as well. (There's an onboard DVD player as well as the memory card reader.) Best of all, the units cost $150 or $200. Much better thought out, I think, than the Altec. Here's a link to the press release, but be warned it's a Word doc.

Well, had the same with my flatscreen. But my service was great! They even gave me a new flatscreen, and little present for the inconvinience. Are you sure you handled it the right way? I think Philips is really one of the best! Hopefully you'll never have that kind of bad service at other electronica brands anyway!
This is just like the iLuv, though I bet it's of better quality. The concept is not new, hopefully the execution is better.

January 08 2007 at 8:43 PM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyI'll never buy from phillips again - I bought one of their 30" flat wall mount TV's directly from them. It kept overheating, and they kept sending out repairmen to work or replace it... losing it 3 times. Finally they said it was no longer under warranty after 90 days and were going to drop it back off broken! After countless calls to their office, I contacted my lawyer who noted: 'If you purchased it with a credit card and it's not in your possession, call your credit card company and claim it fraudelent for a defective device. They'll refund you instantly and back you against Phillips.' After almost 4-5 months of getting it tossed around from their support to their customer service, with little care from Phillips, that quick credit card support worked right away. I'll never ever buy a product from a tech company that put me through so much hell - if they can't stand by their customers, I'll throw that portion of disposable income to another company right away.
