Edgies: Stickies on the Edge

It seems like I am always looking for an alternative to Stickies. Although I like how simple they are, at the same time they just don't seem to fit that well into my workflow. Today I found a new candidate which looks rather promising: Edgies. Its main feature is, as you can see to the right, the ability stick its notes as little tabs on any edge of your screen. But in addition, if you hover over the tab name the note content will pop up, without a click. As well as text, you can drop pictures or even aliases in notes to make an impromptu launcher. New notes can be created by hovering the cursor at the screen edge, via Applescript, or (my favorite) via OS X Service (e.g. with Quicksilver).

Edgies is $9.99 shareware and a demo is available.

That's not a bug it's a feature! Seriously though if you look in the Prefs -> Tab Setting -> Alignment you can turn that stuff on or off.

Too buggy, nice concept though.

Tabs dont stay in one place, they move around screen. Tabs also flash on and off as you mouse around screen , very distracting

May I suggest NOTEZAR, a free web- and widget-based note-taking service? You can get your notes from notezar.com, or from a widget on a Mac. There's also a "read-only" option, where people can log in with your username and no password just to read your notes. And it's free!

Is there a PC app comparable to either of these?

I agree. I've been using Sidenote for years. It gets my vote.

I like Sidenote better. Sidenote keeps all my notes neatly organized in one tab on the side of the screen. I can also assign a hotkey to open the tab. Best of all, it's absolutely FREE!
