Scott, his copy was the standard home basic.....it's not that expensive...chances are he got the upgrade copy too. Saves even more money.

Interesting...VISTA OS seemed to bog down the machine during installation even though you would reasonably assume it was compatible with the the hardware specs. Then once it was finally loaded after considerable user intervention, all it "spat out" was unintelligible bits of data.
As the old computer adage goes...

well, wasting money this way it always looks very stupid, just like the video of guys dastroying brand new ps3 or iPod. For someone money may not be a problem but in other areas of the world there is ppl dying. I know it should just be a funny video but, by my point of view, it's not at all.
