FMenu: Facebook in Your Menubar
Kids these days are always going on about their Facebook "social utility." I don't understand such things, but anyway I bring news of FMenu, a little menubar program that keeps you apprised of developments with the popular online community. According to the developer, FMenu will sit quietly in your menubar until one of the following occurs:- A friend updates his profile
- A friend changes his status
- A friend writes a new note
- Someone writes on your wall
- You have new messages
- You have new pokes
- You have new friend requests
- You have new photo comments
In any case, FMenu is Open Source and a free download, but donations are requested.

OMG... I can't believe we're getting FaceBook in our menubar now...
Almost half of those are alerted to you via e-mail, so I don't see too much reason for this app.

I too was a facebook hater, but I just set up my account this weekend and I must say that it is the coolest thing. It's such a great way to network and communicate with friends, and share photos, websites, and other media.
And, I use FMenu, which is awesome. In response to the above users comment, you should really turn off the e-mail notifications, as I did. FMenu is much more efficient.
Anyone with friends with facebooks should be on facebook as well. It's not unsafe like Myspace, as only your friends can view your profile.

hello, FMenu developer here.
Mat, I really appreciate you featuring FMenu on TUAW – it got me a lot of users. as well as some feedback.
Just wanted to mention that a new version has just come out that includes some new features as well as bugfixes.
