Beta Beat: Joost 0.8 for Mac
Remember Joost, aka the Remember Joost, aka the Remember Joost, aka the Tip of the Day
To find out what version of Mac OS you are running, go to the Apple logo in the top left corner, click it and choose About This Mac. From that window you will see the version number, processor, memory and chosen startup disk. Clicking Software Update will check for updates, and More Info... will open up an extensive list of everything on your machine.

Well, I'd love to try this out (starving college student, no TV, etc.), but I've only got an iBook G4. I know the article says "Mac Intel" but what's the story on PowerPC support? Is it there (IE: is this a Universal Binary)? Is the PPC build separate? Does a PPC build even exist?

I'm disappointed that the beta is Mac Intel only. How many PPC Macs are out here still, including mine? Seems like the Joost folks are appealing to a small niche of an already small niche. I wish them well, but they have left me out, so I guess I'm leaving them out!

i've got the invite to find out the mac version was not even out.
waited some time and see the intel version pop out and everyone with a ppc processor has to wait a bit longer....

The MacIntel beta is pretty slick. The UI controls were a bit choppy and stuck/froze more than once on the fastest 15" MPB model.
