Apple posts WWAN Support Update 1.0
Earlier today, Apple posted WWAN Support Update 1.0 for Intel-based Mac portables. According to Apple, this update offers support for the following:Available on the Cingular network:
- Novatel Merlin XU870 ExpressCard (HSDPA)
- Novatel Wireless Merlin EX720 Express Card (EVDO Rev. A)
- Novatel Wireless Ovation U720 USB Modem (USB Adapter, EVDO Rev. A)
- Novatel XV620 ExpressCard (EVDO Rev. 0)
- Novatel V740 ExpressCard (EVDO Rev. A)
- Novatel Wireless Ovation U720 (USB Adapter, EVDO Rev. A)

Is it actually possible to buy the XU870? I didn’t see any mention of it on Cingular’s BroadbandConnect site.

Well - for those owning the card, dont install this update quite so quickly. At the moment, for european users, this update persistently crashes the SystemUIServer. We have opened a report at Apple and awaiting a response. Seems they only tested this with Cingular in the US.

I hope that this means that Cingular is actually going to release this soon. I hate the idea of paying $350 for the device.

Samuel is Right, i'm using the HSDPA XU870 card, i just updated the OS and the drivers constantly restart the menu bar, that affects the dock and the performance of the Mac also.

Yes . I've just installed this update and menu bar is restarting constantly.
What should I do to terminate this ? How to disable this update ?

Same problem with me, title bar keeps reloading, dock sometimes not working, everything getting slow.
Any clue/fix ?
