gSync offers Google, iCal syncing

iCal and Google Calender synchronization is something that many people want. We've recently looked at Spanning Sync, which gets the job done (Spanning Sync is currently in beta).
Today, TUAW reader Jim has pointed out gSync, another application on the scene. I played with it briefly this morning, and it seemed to work well. It's a little less polished than Spanning Sync, but still use-able.
To tell you the truth, I'm content to use my Google Calendar for my day-to-day activities and just keep iCal as a reference. But that's me.
Thanks, Jim!

I tried this, and it erased nearly everything from my iCal calendars.
It is definitely NOT ready for mere mortals to use!
Opps. I hit the other link. It's spamming sync I'm using. Still thanks. LOL

VNC is an option but its so much easier to open a browser, fire up gcal and check or edit appoitments and have everything be on the same page once I get home to my beloved Mac computers.

Without some kind of syncing option, be it via some phone or iCal with Spanning Sync or gSync, they can easily be completely cut off from all their important appointment information if they can't get online.
February 19 2007 at 2:08 PM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyIt seems like all these gCal/iCal synchronization tools add is the ability to use iCal's clumsy interface. I use gCal to enter appointments, then subscribe to my gCal using iCal. I don't really see a reason to do it the other way around because iCal's input form is so much harder than gCal's.
