WriteRoom 2.1 is available
WriteRoom, the application for "distraction-free writing," reached version 2.1 today. Changes include:- Generate word counts for any part of a document.
- "Typewriter scrolling" setting is more flexible.
- Many squashed bugs

Big deal. Think (freeverse.com/think) does that for free, but with any application.

Hmm... Think does do a good job, but it's not the same - Have you tried WriteRoom; It's like using a GUI-less terminal, I love it and couldn't get any work done without it.

Jesus! This thing is great....being a writer, this sure is a lot better than Microsoft Word....no distraction...like using an Apple II!

For a writing app that is supposed to have minimal distrations, it sure does get a lot of them added on.

If WR 2 has too much stuff for you, WR 1 is still free and much more basic. You don't have to even save files anywhere.
The best use for WR 2 is editing text from other apps via system-wide hotkey.
