No Limits Roller Coaster Sim

The cross-platform Roller Coaster simulator No Limits has recently been updated to version 1.6 for the Mac, and since we've never mentioned it before on TUAW, I thought it was worth bringing to your attention. No Limits is both a simulator that allows you to "ride" a variety of coasters, as well as a track editor you can use to build your own designs. The No Limits community is quite large (I know a roller-coaster addict who has long been a fan) and so there are quite a few fan designed coasters you can download and try out. There are even replicas of famous real coasters from parks around the world. No Limits uses Open GL to render your ride in real time, with extensive scenery and details; you can even look around (with the mouse) during the ride. But the best part is definitely designing your own coasters, allowing you to go well beyond the limits safety and prudence dictate in the real world.

No Limits is $29.95 and a demo is available.

Tip of the Day

To find out what version of Mac OS you are running, go to the Apple logo in the top left corner, click it and choose About This Mac. From that window you will see the version number, processor, memory and chosen startup disk. Clicking Software Update will check for updates, and More Info... will open up an extensive list of everything on your machine.
