iPod doubles as flight data recorder
If you're in the market for a small plane (and really, who isn't in the market for a small plane?) perhaps this news will help you choose: American manufacturer LoPresti will allow the iPod to serve as a flight data recorder in the Fury two-seater. This is "flight data recorder" in the sense of "performance and location information for post-flight review," not in the sense of "black box intended to survive a crash for forensic analysis." Not that there aren't a few iPod cases that have the look of armor plating...Thanks Gordon!

The LoPresti Fury has other Apple connections too. RJ Siegel, the Fury's business manager, used to work at Apple and was a part of the original Macintosh design team.

Good luck getting Apple to release any information helpful for the development of 3rd party applications. As it is now, they haven't helped the iPodLinux community one single bit.

Is it just a data storage system? That's not hard. If they wanted a way to use the iPod to display any of that data, then that's hard, unless it's just text.

This is just a PR stunt. Before it can fly, it has to be FAA certified and there's NO WAY Apple will cooperate with these folks.
These guys have a dubious background of PR stunts.
