Found Footage: Google Tech Talk on Camino
Over at the Office Google Mac Blog, Mike Pinkerton, Google Mac Team Software Engineer, just announced a Google Tech Talk he gave back in January. Now the reason this is of interest is that Pinkerton also just happens to be the project lead for the Camino web browser and the talk he gave (as part of Google's Open Source Developers series) discusses the history of the Camino and Mozilla projects back from the Netscape days, as well as some future plans for Camino.Check it out over at Google video (where else?)

Wow, that Tech Talk video was fantastic! I actually watched the whole thing and was deeply engrossed the entire time. I learned quite a bit about the back story of Nutscrape/Firefox/Camino. Here I've been using (and loving) Camino exclusively for a year now and had no idea about its beginnings!
Very cool, thanks for posting this.
If Camino allowed you to Ctrl-Tab (or any other shortcut) to flick to one tab and then back to the original one again, or scroll through the list, I'd be on it full time.... This is something I use all the time in Firefox, kind of like Cmd Tab for apps.
I actually really dislike FF on the Mac and would much rather go back to Camino, but this is one thing which I find I just can't do without...
I've been on the forums about this, but the developers seem to have other priorities, which I can understand :(
I have a suggestion for the future of Camino. Make it work with Japanese (and Chinese) websites again like it used to. Font support is hopelessly broken in the new betas.
Kind of sad, since they actually have an official Japanese Camino site that's unusable in the new versions of Camino.
@#5 - CMD+SHIFT+F to bring you to the search bar (or show the 'Search the Web' Dialog if you prefer to browse with the toolbar hidden).
@#6 - If by 'instant search' you mean 'find as you type' it is done in camino by simply pressing '/' and then typing.
Arg: you should try looking at the caminobrowser.org website some time. both can be found here: http://www.caminobrowser.org/support/docs/shortcuts/
@#2 - Also on the website, and only 2 clicks from the first page:

Enable Search from the Location Bar
When you enter an incorrect URL, Camino will display an error page. However, some users prefer for Camino to search (using the default search engine) for what they incorrectly entered. This can be done by adding the following code to your user.js file:
// Enable Location Bar Search.
user_pref("keyword.enabled", true);
To change the search engine used by this preference, modify the value of the keyword.URL preference.
You can also search from the location bar using bookmark keywords. For information on bookmark keywords, see the Bookmarks documentation.
The reason I don't use camino most of the time is downloadthemall and VideoDownloader the firefox plugins that let me 1) download all of a certain type of file linked on a page and 2) grab flash videos from YouTube and Google. Also I've never figured out how to make favicons last more than a few weeks in the bookmarks toolbar on camino.

I feel very comfortable with Camino and I use it for years. For me it still the fastest and the simplest,. It doesn't have any radio, microwave or neither make coffee and that's what I like! I just wanna browser to... browse the Internet.
Ho! and thanks for the cue kurtis, I didn't knew about the morecamino plugin.
Oh, and I forgot instant search. Firefox's instant search is enough for me to stick with it alone.

I can't middle click the home button, or my bookmarks in my toolbar.
No extensions, including search extensions, and the CMD-K shortcut to bring you to the search bar does not work.
