Get 35% off Flip4Mac
Ok, so for whatever reason you just need to have the ability to encode darling little WMVs on your Mac, Flip4Mac is probably the way you'll want to go, and macZOT! makes the encoding software more appealing with a nice 35% off discount. The full-fledged Flip4Mac WMV Studio package typically runs $49, but with this offer (good for today only) the price gets knocked down to just under $32. As a side note, you don't need to spend any money to play Windows Media files: simply grab the free plugin. The software requires OS X 10.3.9, and QuickTime 6.5 or later. (Don't shoot the messenger!)

Actually paying does more than encode TO wmv. It goes the other way, and is quite handy. I enjoy encoding stupid funny videos to 3gp and putting them on my cell phone. Since most "stupid" videos (ebaum's world on down) are in wmv (insert witty commentary here), I can lose the watermark with a full version... Not just stupid vids, really. Penguin Magic sells tricks in wmv format-- a nice way to brush up on sleights while I wait around for stuff...

Don't buy this junk. I have it. It used to be great for importing ASF files from Mustek cameras into iMovie and the like, but after QT 7.1.3, it failed to work... It's been that way since September of last year. The tech support claim they are working on a fix..... Not yet released, and who knows what this recent QT 7.1.5 update has done to it.

Or you can simply purchase the extremely fun game The Movies, which includes a free OEM license for Flip4Mac.

I would advise getting VisualHub. I used it to convert some DivX files into WMV so I could watch it on my xbox360. It worked flawlessly.
