Redefining 'iPod'
iPods. Small portable media players manufactured by Apple, Inc. Right? Not necessarily. Today, I googled across an entirely new definition, or at least a new acronym, of iPod from the BBC: insecure, pressured, over-taxed and debt-ridden young working people. Have you heard this used in conversation? Even once? Nah, me neither. Besides giving me a bit of a chuckle (which I needed because I'm so hung over from last night's clock-change), it inspired me to try to create a few Apple-inspired acronyms on my own. Which, as you'll shortly see, are really bad.
OS X. Ostriches savoring xylophones
Mac. (Yeah, yeah. I know you're thinking "Media Access Control". Me too.)
Apple. Amazing pendants puzzling light entertainment
So I'm throwing this open to you, our readers. What amusing ApplcronymsMacronyms[1] can you offer?
[1] Thanks Aaron Davies

The clock change was two nights ago. Did you spend Sunday an hour behind everyone else?

"...I'm so hung over from last night's clock-change"
Most changed their clocks two nights ago. Go back to sleep.

I don't know about you guys, but where I'm from we change the clocks early Sunday morning and Sunday evening is the first night one goes to sleep at a new time.

The BBC acronym is half-witted at best. If you really apply the word-to-letter rule, then the acronym becomes "iPodywp".
How about "Incredibly Portable Ostentatious Device" or "Instantly Paramount to Outside Distractions"?

MACINTOSH
"Most Applications Crash, If Not, The Operating System Hangs"
An oldie but a goodie! Invented circa 1984 as part of the FUD campaign against the new-fangled GUI metaphor which challenged the status quo of computing. (Of course, there was some truth to it!)

The iStuff
iWork: It’s worthless. Office rules, ’K?
iLife: It’s lovely, if friggin’ enormous!
iPhone: I positively hate owning Nokia equipment.
iTunes: Imagine that! Unknown new entertainers spotlighted!
iChat: It’s cheesy hearing another typing.
iCal: Interrupting chats, alarm’s loud.
Other Stuff
AirPort: As I recollect, pieces of real tripe.
BootCamp: Bargain option of the competing available Microsoft-enabling products
Safari: Sometimes, Apple, Firefox advances real innovation
Dashboard: Don’t accidentally strike hotkey, bringing open another resource demon
Spotlight: Some people open this llama incessantly; geeks hack @ Terminal.
And with that, I’ll leave it up to the rest of you. ;-)
