Dock-It: multiple Dock manager

In this week's Ask TUAW we addressed a question about adding a Dock to each screen of a multi-screen set up. In researching that question, I came across a nifty little app for doing just that called Dock-It. As you can see from my rather extreme screenshot above, it lets you set up multiple Docks and pin them to any of the four sides of the screen, including the top. And of course, you can create docks on the secondary display as well. You can also add little "Applets" to your Docks including a clock, system preferences, and a very convenient shelf (e.g. for holding files when you're moving things around with the Finder). Finally, you can browse your file system simply by clicking on one of Volumes or Folders which you've added to one of the docks.
Dock-It looks to be a very versatile piece of software and well worth its modest $10 price if you're into the idea of more Docks. The only downside I've seen in my testing is that it can quickly use quite a bit of real memory, especially if you start browsing through the file system. A 14 day demo is available for download

Not sure how to add a general comment, but I noticed that the iPod Hi-Fi is almost non exsistent on the Apple Store after the Apple TV started shipping.

Another downside is that one can't just add items by dropping files on the dock, or remove them by dragging them away. That has to be done in the dock editor.
It has interesting ideas, but with the above problem, it's just going to cause me problems for conflicting behavior.

Hi, I personally use Dockyard http://www.belkadan.com/dockyard/ which permit multi Dock toggling as well as multi dashboards. You can select them directly in the menubar or with a widget which is very handy. But the best of all is that Dockyard is FREE since it's an Open Source app.
Ho! and I'm not related to belkadan, I'm just a Dockyard user from almost the first version. Take a look...
