Convert those Xvix/WMV/Divx for Apple TV playback
Whenever Apple (or any other company for that matter) comes out with a device that plays back some, but not all existing, media file formats people get upset. Apple TV suffers from this, as many people bemoaned the lack of Xvix/WMV/Divx support. Now, using only QuickTime Pro, Automator, and lots of time you can encode all those videos into Apple TV format and enjoy your video on a nice, big HDTV.[via Digg]

Or, you could use VisualHub which now does AppleTV content from any source and really quickly. I recently converted an episode of 'found' in under 10 minutes on my MacBook Pro.

I am almost certain you meant XviD and NOT Xvix

I already convert all of my video into iPod format. Does this mean I have to convert it again to aTV format? Or will it stream, iPod files?
Probably a dumb question, but I haven't seen it answered anywhere and I haven't had time to research it much.

I'd have to recommend VisualHub as well. I bought it just for this purpose. QuickTime is unbelievably slow at encoding Apple TV movies compared to VisualHub.

Xvix is the new decongestant app for your nasal passages. It only works with certain USB vaporizors and electric kettles, though.
