Whilst trying this out, FacebookSync seems to work pretty well, though I admittedly don't spend much time on it and I only have a dozen or so friends. Still, it added the information I told it to (and for the record, I'm on 10.4.9 and have over 450 contacts in Address Book already), so I'll give it two thumbs up. Before running FacebookSync, however, I highly recommend you chose File > Backup Address Book in Address Book to create a clean, recent copy in case things go south. FacebookSync isn't likely to eat your cat or cause your Apple TV to implode, but having a Plan B is an absolute must when playing with software like this.

doesn't work very well for me. I have 450 contacts in AB, and about 140 friends on FB. It crashes around the 40th contact every time :(

It imported everything fine for me, but Adium for some reason did not add them to my buddy list. I can see the AB cards perfectly in Address Book, including their AIM SNs. When I click on the AIM SN it gives me an Adium option, so I click it. This brings up a new message window, but the contact is still not added to my buddy list per se.
Are there any suggestions (other than individually adding each one from the menu bar)?

#2: Unfortunately, adding those friends to a chat app isn't the duty of FacebookSync; it merely updates their *information* in your contact cards - you still need to add those friends manually. I *think* you can drag and drop each one, or a group of them, from AB to the Adium window or maybe the Dock to do a mass-add.
To find all the ones that were recently updated, I think you could either use a smart group or possibly turn on the 'last import' option.

Are we all going to blindly install this application from a guy who made logKext?

Worked fine for me, and that's with 179 to sync.
I noticed it had logged me out of Facebook - is it possible that you guys who'd had problems had signed back in, or had another app using facebook's date (Fmenu for instance) whilst it had been processing?

Worked just fine for me! Just under 400 facebook contacts to sync, running OS X 10.4.9, and address book 4.0.4...
I also have my mac address book synced to plaxo, the free online address book, and it transferred them no problem to plaxo, too.

Does FacebookSync give you the option to skip friends? I have quite a few facebook friends, and I certainly don't want or need all of them in my address book.
