Swap full-screen Cover Flow and video in iTunes

Here comes the community at Mac OS X Hints with yet another cool trick which, in this case, should help us waste just a little more time in iTunes 7.1.1. I specify that latest version because this hint concerns Cover Flow's new found ability to run in full-screen mode: as it turns out, you can command-tab between a full-screen video and Cover Flow. This is enabled by the apparent fact that that cmd-tab doesn't toggle Mac OS X's app switcher when in iTunes is full-screened; you have to hit Escape to get out of this environment for cmd-tab to get back to its normal duties. This is a slick, very eye candy feature that, in a way, I am surprised Apple didn't do at least a little bragging about with the latest iTunes update.

It only works if you do the full screen CoverFlow first. If you full screen the video first, it will just bring you back to the desktop. Hope that helps.

Johnny: I have a MacBook Pro using 7.1.1 and command-tab does the same thing for me. Single display, Intel chip. Not sure why it doesn't work...

In full screen mode...If I could flip the album art to see the song selection that would be fantastic
Like "artifex" statement, album art not a selling point !

Staring at album covers just hasn't been a selling point for me. Especially since, with buying single tracks from many artists, I have no connection in my mind with what the albums look like.

Why can't they sell me a nice art pack, say 100 top Impressionist works, that I could "watch" with my classical music?

I tried this with iTunes 7.1.1 and it doesn't work. It takes me out of full-screen mode when I hit Cmd-Tab. Maybe it is due to multiple displays or requires an Intel or something.

The Spin Doctors are an amazing band. Ignore the naysayers!

#1: I'm blogging at a coffee shop for a change of scenery and I don't have my iTunes library with me, so I couldn't shoot a new pic even if I wanted to ATM. All we're doing is re-using the same pic we used before for convenience, not for a plug. It's one band or another. Last time I used a shot of Spin Doctors in my library and people - who obviously can't comprehend how amazing the band really is - lambasted me for it.

You just can't seem to please everyone...
