I love Skype, but hate the annoying feedback/echo i get when using it. It's minimized by one user useing headphones, and even more when both parties are using them.
Does iChat have this issue as well? Can people have video chats without headphones and not have that crazy echo?
Thanks.

@ Marcel
If you're on a MacBook Pro then this is caused by the microphone being on the same side as one of the speakers. The best way to solve this is to open up the 'sound' preference pane and alter the balance for the internal speakers.

Also new -
Now pops open contact list when you click on the contact icon - doesn't hide contact list though on a second click.
Also still missing - the ability to hide contact list on opening on login. I want to be online but don't need to have my skype contact list on all the time.

Thanks meatmcguffin,
I am using a MacBook Pro. Do you know if the mic is on the right or left hand one?
Also, do you know if this issue is also present with iChat? (do you have to use headphones to avoid any bad echos?)

Marcel,
Actually, the new version of Skype for Mac eliminates the echo you're referring to. Give it a try.
