Mac 101: Quickly resize the Dock
Here's a Mac 101 tip for you: want to quickly resize your Dock? Just move your mouse to the vertical bar on the right (or bottom) side of the Dock, where it splits between application icons and minimized windows/the Trash, and drag... up/right to biggify, down/left for enhanced shrinkitude. Fun for all ages! Click the image or here for a movie demo.If you want to move the dock to a different side of the screen, try shift-dragging instead of just plain dragging.

Maybe the videos could not be self-starting / auto-loading?
The TUAW blog is heavy enough as it is.

You can also hold down the option key while resizing to get the optimum sizes.

I second what Evan said. Holding down option while resizing will give non-interpolated icon sizes. Specifically, 16x16, 32x32, 64x64, and 128x128. At these sizes, the icons are their most crisp.

It snaps to 48x48 too, plus a few sizes between 64 and 128.

#8 -- Andrew, you may have missed the introductory post for the 'Mac 101' series. These posts are intended as tips for novice users; since you're clearly a grizzled veteran, you should probably skip them.
