Poll: Missing Announcements
Yesterday, Apple announced major improvements to Final Cut Studio. This announcement turned out to be pretty much what we were expecting but the FCS2 news still leaves a number of Apple issues missing-in-action. What happened to the High Def movies in iTunes announcement many of us were hoping for? Or some hardware refresh announcements beyond the move to more powerful Mac Pros? Which of the following items do you most want to see Apple announce?

OK, Mac Pro still needs a refresh. Adding a tier doesn't help if the video cards are a tad dated and still priced a bit high. The base model card could have been bumped up a notch.
NAB isn't just a TV industry association, it's basically about any form of broadcasting and any form of media. It is a pro show and they've never updated or introduced a consumer product at the show. Apple had maybe 16 Mac Pro stations, one AppleTV and I think they might have one station with an iPod.
None of the above.
What I would really love is to see some of that Movie and TV lovin' on iTunes over here in Australia - damn americans keeping all the good stuff to themselves...
Missing option:
"A pony! I want a pony!"
This was NAB, thus a specialized forum focusing on video. What I was expecting was support for AVCHD in Final Cut Pro, Express and iMovie. AVCHD is the H.264-based codec used in Sony, Panasonic and JVC's recent tapeless hard-disk-drive camcorders, and which offers better image quality than HDV.

Note also that the list is indirectly linked to Amazon Mechanical Turk, so the people voting on the list also get a payment.
Who knew there was so much web2.0 money to be made on such pointless detritus..? What did we do before the internet..??
To launch consumer products at an event aimed at professional broadcasting is about as useful as announcing new versions of Xsan and WebObjects at an iPod special event - It's getting to the point where people are getting p*ssed at Apple because they aren't releasing products that are based on rumour.
Remember the Intel Mac Mini and iPod Hi-fi launch? There was so much hype over other rumoured products that the whole Apple fanbase went into a fit of rage because a new video iPod or iPhone wasn't released - everyone got angry because they'd all hyped themselves up.
Leave the rumours at the door or else you will ALWAYS be disappointed at an Apple event.
I completely get the point of the post.
Any public presentation for Apple has a chance of announcing a new / exciting product.
It's like breaking up with your girlfriend - there is no right time - sometimes you do it when you can.
I would like to see a sub-compact notebook.
it would really be great if they offered HD downloads as an option for those of us that do have the bandwidth that can handle it
ie - downloading lost - you are presented w two download (diff priced) .
one download - medium res - specified w size and download time.
second download HD 720P w specified and download time (and warnings about hard drive space etc) OPTIMIZED FOR APPLE TV (selling point w link)
besides this - related to download time,
everytime you load the itunes store they should test your download speed and customize download time etimates according to your personal bandwidth and apples current congestion .
genius?
nahhh
just do it dam it!
