Mac shipments in US up 30% from last year
There's a movement afoot, and it arrives in nice white boxes. Gartner Research is reporting that preliminary data on Apple's 2007 first quarter shows a 30% year-over-year increase in computer shipments. Interestingly, the last quarter of 2006 showed the same increase. With the most recent data, Apple's estimated US market share rises a full point to 5%.This growth in sales (against industry-wide unit growth of 2.6%) is the best indication of the escape-velocity pace of the Mac market's expansion. Woo hoo!

I'll have you know, my MacBook Pro came in a very classy BLACK box - which I still have... Along with my 23" acd's classy black box and my old 12" PB's black box - man, I have no friends...

Now if they would only get off their butts and release some hardware updates they'd have another convert in me. I've been patiently waiting for almost 6 months now to buy a Mac-mini to replace my aging windows desktop. I would imagine there are a lot of others doing the same.
Yeah - Yeah - they're busy working on the iPhone - Don't care! I want my new Mac!

@Miked,
From what I hear, the Santa Rosa chipset (aka Centrino Pro) and Penryn processor will be announced May, which means product updates by June.
