Get A Mac UK ad: Office Posse

Yet another Get A Mac ad has surfaced, though this time it is the British version that has a new addition. The ad, called 'Office Posse,' features PC, Mac, and Microsoft Office (those are the people in the colorful suits). Office runs just fine on the Mac, and it is implied that Office would rather run on the Mac (who wouldn't?). Another clever, if not compelling, Get A Mac ad.

Thanks to everyone who sent this in.

2 disappointments with MS Office Mac….
-One there is no access
-Two I almost never touch my mouse in excel as I use it all day at work (on my POS Dell… not by choice!) but then when I get on my Mac I slow down tremendously as I cannot use my ALT or CTRL shortcuts….

Anyone know any fixes to this besides using a PC???

Oh...nevermind. Entourage. The email-client I don't use. But I bet millions of Windows-users will think he's supposed to be Access...

So....ehhh.... what about the pink guy? Isn't he supposed to be Access? On a Mac?

I like the UK ads a lot better than the US ones. I mean, what a great personification of Office! They're very clever.

@yjs > "Office 2004 runs like ass on Rosetta."

I find it runs just fine. The time from double-clicking an .xls file to being able to edit the columns is 12.6 secs on a freshly booted machine, and 4.7 secs on the second launch.

Maybe your problem is memory: Rosetta needs a bit of memory, especially when the first Rosetta app is launched. Any system using Rosetta apps should have 2 GB, imho.

Of course, I do have a 3.0GHz Mac Pro with RAID drive, so I'm skewed towards seeing good performance across the board.

Relatively speaking though, I don't find Office (PowerPC) a problem, and it ran fine when I set it up on a Mac Book Pro for a colleague.

"how come it's taking so long for microsoft to release a univeral binary version? maybe bill is holding out on purpose..."

Of course he is. Think how many resources MS has. They could get it done in a month if they wanted to.

They'll release it late and then cripple it (no VBA support).

This ad is absolutely great!! They NEED to do this for the USA.

MS Office runs a lot faster on my iMac core duo 1.83 than it did on my PB G4 1.33. It works just fine.

I thought the ad was great! LOL great!

BTW, I run a 24" iMac and find that with the exclusion of start-up times, office runs perfectly under Rosetta.

Stop flamen winging! At least you have something to complain about :P
