Mozy is a secure online backup service from Berkeley Data Systems. Today, Mozy introduced a public beta for Mac users, offering a Universal binary that runs on both Power PC and Intel systems. Mac Mozy provides both full- and incremental-backups and allows you to schedule those backups for specific times or to wait for when your computer is idle. Berkeley offers two basic plans to choose from. You can store up to 2 GB of data for free or, if you need more space, $5/month provides unlimited backup space.
Most importantly, the data is stored securely. Mozy uses 448-bit blowfish encryption on your data and you select your private encryption key. No one at Berkeley has access to that key. If you'd like to give Mac Mozy a spin, stop by their free registration page, answer some personal questions and wait for an e-mail with a link to their download page.

I've been using the Mozy Mac beta for about a month now. It's fairly smooth and simple. My only gripe is that if you want to see what is on your Mozy drive you have to go their website. I'd much rather have it mount on my desktop and view it through the Finder.

Re: Comment #5
How does this make .Mac suck? If you don't like .Mac or don't have use for it's services, you don't have to use it.
I assume you're referring to just ONE of the many features of .Mac, the iDisk. Does Mozy sync your files between multiple computers? Does Mozy have a nice web UI for your files? Does Mozy have a public folder that your friends can get/put files in? Does Mozy integrate with the Finder?
Personally I use a bunch of the .Mac features and I find them incredibly convenient. Sure I could waste gobs of my own time cobbling together a solution similar to .Mac. But I have better things to do with my time. And none of them would fit some seamlessly into my machines.
Is a buck knife better than a swiss army knife? Depends on your needs.

#15: I wouldn't have said this was better than .Mac in terms of features, but it trounces it on price to performance.
