George Foreman's iGrill
Shortly after the iMac was introduced colorful translucent plastics became the hot new thing in industrial design. Everything was sporting translucent plastic in a variety of lickable colors, including the George Foreman Grill (who doesn't like to knock out the fat?). Therefore, as the iMac was to 1998 so the iPod is to 2007. You know where this is going, don't you?The iGrill is a George Foreman grill with an integrated iPod speaker system (you can plug another DAP into it, if you like, but really why would you?). At $149 this thing is a little pricey, but if you like to grill and jam at the same time, this might be the ticket.

Seems like a great way to coat your iPod in grease and smoke, not to mention heat. And I'm sure it will sell a million units.

Exactly. Where is the port? Will my iPod catch fire? If the port is on the base, away from the heat, isn't that just terribly inconvenient?

I hate useless design combinations like this (toaster + radio).
But at the same time, I believe this is one of the factors that will make the iPhone so successful. because the iphone uses essentially the same dock connector, it will launch with hundreds of compatible accessories available for it. Since many firms are already familiar with designing for ipod compatibility, they will crank out thousands of iPhone compatible products in the first year. How many RAZR specific accessories are there. Even though it is the most popular phone available in recent history, there are relatively few.

OK, someone log the date and time. The foreman grill has officially jumped the shark.

I just can't fathom anyone grilling outside with a George Foreman. The neighbors might see you!

Actually, after looking at the specs, I see that this thing is only 200 sq. inches (which is about a 16" diameter) and only has a 10W speaker. I guess the neighbors won't see or hear anything after all. They'll just wonder why you're standing outside apparently dancing to the clock radio you left inside the house.
