Apple posts 3 more Get a Mac ads: Choose a Vista, Genius, and Party is over

Apple just keeps pumping out the Get a Mac ads, don't they? Three new ads have surfaced, and I think they are the best of the lot. The above shot is from 'Choose a Vista' in which PC spins a wheel to figure out which version of Vista he should buy while Mac points out that OS X only comes in one version, that includes everything you need. The second ad, called Genius, highlights the fact that you can get free tech support from a Mac Genius at every Apple Store. Finally, Party is Over pokes fun at the Vista delays and the rather lukewarm reception that Redmond's OS garnered.

All in all, not too shabby.

Thanks, Patrick.

Karl,
Since we're giving human characteristics to computers, I don't think you have to like someone to get along with them. There are people I work with that I completely despise and have no respect for whatsoever but we still manage to work together just fine. And actually, if I liked some of them I might not be able to work as well with them because I'd be less honest, fearing I'd hurt their feelings. As it is, I don't care. I can tell them the truth and if it hurts their feeling, oh well. Of course, it would matter more if they actually had feelings.

There are 13 new PC-Mac movies at the Apple UK website (http://www.apple.com/uk/).

Enjoy.

The first question is "What is the square root of 4096?" which is 64.

The second is "What is pi to the fifth decimal?" which is 3.14159 (that's not a "genius" thing, even I know it two about 15-20ish)

The third is "on a scale of one to ten, how much do I loathe Mac?", and I don't like this one. Weren't a few of their other Get a Mac ads based on how now Macs and PCs get along more easily? That kinda goes against that. I think some PC users might thing, oh hey, they hate each other so they won't work together!

Here's something funny: I was wondering what was written on the buttons the other PCs were wearing in the "Party's over" ad, so I blew up the picture in HD. The two guys in the foreground... one's says "Vista is Here," and "Vista+PC=(heart)". The second guy's says "Wow." The funny part, and I'm not 100% sure because even blown up in HD it's hard to read, but the African-American's button appears to say "finally." I thought that one was OK, but "Choose a Vista" and "Genius" are outstanding.

1: What is the square root of 4096? -> 64
2: What is Pi to 5 decimal places? -> 3.14159
3: How much do I loathe Mac on a scale of 1 to 10? -> 11

At the end of "Party's Over" there is an ad that appears that says something to the effect of "No upgrade headaches."

So, the upgrade headache to OSX from 9, and the current one for those of us contemplating the jump from PPC to Intel - I'm just imagining those, right?

That wheel would be quite handy for cs3.

Obviously the majority of these commercials are geared towards consumers and not business users or the cartography industry. While it is true that there are LOTS of software niches that aren't available for Mac OS X, they can still run on a Mac in Parallels or Boot camp.

The opposite is not true. You can't run Final Cut Pro on a PC.

I think GIS is kind of a niche task. I do plenty of niche tasks on a Windows computer at a different desk, it keeps me from being distracted with email and such.

I'm not of the mind where I have to do everything with only one platform. I even use my Mac to help diagnose networking problems with my Windows computer.

@20.
PC asked her on a scale of 1 to 10, how much does he hate Macs. She answered '11'.
