Open a beer with your iPod
The weather in my neighborhood was just beautiful last weekend. We were out on the deck, listening to music on the iPod and enjoying a few drinks. If only I could have opened my beer with my iPod. Ooh, that would be the realization of a dream...The folks at Mophie have answered my call. Their Bevy bottle opener and key chain is a small, plastic case for the iPod shuffle that attaches to your keys. The controls and headphone port remain accessible, and the flip side features a bottle opener. Because, you now, listening to music on headphones, opening a bottle and driving your car all at the same time is a really good idea. You can pick one up for $15US.

Filling a much-needed gap in the market, as they say.

thats ridiculous!
why would you need a special device to open a beer with an ipod? with this thing, you are opening youre beer with the thing, not with the ipod.
im quite shure a beer can be opened with nearly every ipod, but im to cheap to try it, since it would most likely scratch it quite a bit.
i think i stick with what i use for years: lighters, other bottles, random pieces of wood or stone or metal, cellphones, ice axes, shovels, DVD cases, i can even open a beer with a A4 sized oiece of paper.

judging by the 2nd picture, you have to remove the ipod in order to use the bottle opener. so much for convenience

I would buy this... not necessarily for the beer opener... that's insane. I do like the idea of having your shuffle attached to your keychain though.

Yeah, it's a daft idea. But what isn't a daft idea is taking your shuffle with you on a drinking session instead of your 30Gb 5G. That way when you end up pished at the end of the night and you've left your jacket in the cloakroom of some club you never intended to go to in the first place, you're only risking a cheap little flash player instead of your pride and joy. You'll thank me.
