Home Zone
A while back we mentioned MarcoPolo, a location manager for the Mac that can change certain system settings based on the particular wireless network or devices you're connected to. Home Zone offers a similar capability allowing you to set up a variety of actions (e.g. changing the default printer, starting/stopping the screen saver, starting iSync, etc.) that are triggered either by changing your Airport network or by bringing Bluetooth phone close to your Mac.Home Zone is presently in beta and a free download from Jonas Witt.
Update: MarcoPolo also does Bluetooth.

MarcoPolo also can work based on BlueTooth devices. That was even mentioned in the original posting here on TUAW...

you should write about Proximity, an app I only discovered a couple of weeks ago, but apparently has been around for a few months.
http://reduxcomputing.com/proximity.php
it polls bluetooth for a specific device in range of the computer. If the device is out of range, it runs an applescript of your choosing, and when they device comes back into range, it runs a different applescript of your choosing.
i have it set up with some custom applescripts i made so that when i leave the room with my phone, itunes pauses, it sets my adium status to away, and turns on the screensaver.
when i come back in the room, it unpauses itunes, turns off the screensaver [and turns on the screen if its off] and sets adium status to online.
it also checks when the last synchronisation through isync was, and if it's been more than 24 hours since the last sync, it fires up isync for me as well.
wonderful app. I'm happy to make my applescripts available to anyone that wants them to use with Proximity.

To Andrew Harrison:
Hi I'm interested in your scripts, since I'm relatively new to Apple... it would be nice if you could place them somewhere where we can also discuss them...

Andrew:
I'm also interested - I am yet to make the switch to mac (waiting till WWDC is over, then switching for myself and my fiance) but being prepared for two weeks from now when I do switch would be great.

HomeZone is awesome...when it works properly. The app keeps crashing on me with my Cingular RAZR, but I'll be watching out for future version updates.
