They did this same promotion last year. When I got my MacBook I got a 60GB iPod for like $200 less.

And the principle is still true: freebies like this are built into the profit margin, just like a rebate when you buy your car is not really free money.

So do you think that after June 29th the iphone will qualify as an ipod and you can get $200 towards it.

I checked the rebate form, and it's not included yet.

FYI to everyone, since my purchase was still within return policy they offered me $100 instant off nano/ipod of my choosing. Worth the phone call.

This is an annual deal. I took advantage of it pretty much exactly a year ago to get my Macbook.

I agree with the new ipod nano comment...and i'm sad this only applys to people buying NEW macbooks AND you have to pay for the nano up front and then get a rebate...I only have $1200 and need a superdrive (i mean shouldn't EVERY computer come with a dvd burner now?) so I definitely can't buy the low end model, and cant afford the middle + initial nano cost...oh well, i'll just wait for a new nano/ipod video and settle for my last gen blackbook - enjoy those of you who can get this!
