Every heavy user of Safari I spoke to said the same thing about the Safari 3 beta, 'it is great, but I sure do miss Saft.' Saft, for those who don't know, is a great Safari add on that enables lots of new features for the browser including:- Full screen mode
- Smart URL completion
- Growl support
Saft costs $6.

Does this mean that Saft WILL work in Leopard as will other input managers? (See "Leopard Axing Input Managers?" http://www.tuaw.com/2007/03/24/leopard-axing-input-managers/)
Or is Leopard still going to break plugins and this will only work while we're still on Tiger?

Why does every site say saft is 6 bucks. I'm seeing 12 bucks.
The saft site login for getting the new version is screwed up. Login fails every time. Either he's getting hammered with downloads or his site is in need of repair.

According to the front page of the site, it's a $6 update for registered users. It's probably a full $12 for new purchasers.

Saft has an option to only have URL completion in a drop-down menu, rather than beginning in the address bar. Perhaps that is what it is referring to.

Oh OK. Like Netscape, IE, etc. I see.
I was thinking he meant typing "apple/support" and getting "http://www.apple.com/support", which is super cool, included in Safari, and one of the main reasons I use the browser.

Johnny--that was my first thought as well. Don't know if it will work in 10.5, but as long as we're in 10.4, we've still got an InputManagers folder to use. I'm sure they'll figure something out for 10.5. I'm sure a regular daemon could do the same job.

It's a neat function, and works with everything. E.g., flickr/photos/bderwest. Safari knows where to put http://www. and .com (although if the thing's .net, etc., you'll have to add that, I think

For those who bought Saft previously, just go here: http://haoli.dnsalias.com/ld/d.php?saft_tiger_safari3, and enter your email and the paypal transaction number you used. I just got the file without any $6 upgrade fee? :)
