We've covered Unity before, but video speaks louder than words, so we were happy to have a demo of some incredible features in the latest version. Unity is a game dev tool, only for Macintosh, that allows you to create Mac games, Dashboard widget games, PC games, web games embedded on a page and (eventually) Wii games. What's really impressive about Unity is the ease-of-use. The FPS you'll see in the video was created by a 15-year-old with no previous programming experience-- using an eMac. Also, be sure to stay tuned on Monday for another video with team Unity as they unveil some amazing new features.
Again, here's the .mov version for everyone to enjoy in stutter-free format.

Do you think this will work in our beloved Intel Mini's? My crappy GMA 950 seems to die in everything newer than Quake 3... :(
ps. anyone knows if that external graphic-card thing will work on a mini?

For Pete's sake, PLEASE put the focus of the camera and interview on the INTERVIEWEE and not the TUAW correspondent... Just have them switch chairs before you start rolling. Then, when you zoom out for the two-shot, the interviewer can turn to the subject and the Subject can talk to the camera.
Simple, effective and above all, professional.
Thanks for the videos none the less, it is great to get some behind the scenes from WWDC.

Yes, Unity works on a GMA 950, including the two demos showed. It runs the first demo really really slowly. But it works and you get the effects.

Arr4, we started doing that for our later interviews. We did it this way because we figured the presenter would have their backs to the camera when they demoed. Hey, we're still learning. :)

Thanks Scott... I wasn't trying to diss you BTW, now that I read it tho' I might have been overly critical. The shear amount of info you two are streaming (okay UPLOADING) from the ether that is WWDC is VERY appreciated.
peace

Hi,
for jtreanor, looking for a Windows tool, and all of you not aware of it, you should have a look to Virtools
Certainly a higher priced product but already with a huge user community and amazing features to go online, on wii, PSP, XBox and high end VR (=immersive and clustered-based) systems
