When I was at WWDC I had the pleasure of sitting down with Manton Reece, developer of Wii Transfer, and chatting about his cool little application. He showed off a version that wasn't quite ready for prime-time during the interview, but now it is available for download.Wii Transfer, in case you don't recall, allows you to access media from your Mac on your Wii. It also converts movies you might have on your Mac into a format that will play on your Wii. New in Wii Transfer 2.3 is:
- Playback of unprotected AAC's is supported
- UI has been overhauled
- Better use of the Wii remote button
- A snazzy new icon

....Is there NO PS3 equivalent for OS X? Using DDNA blows. On the same subject, I'm kind of perplexed that Handbrake and ffmpegx haven't implemented some PS3 compatible presets.

And, I'm not sure if you've noticed, although I would think that you would mentioned it had you, but in the screenshots on the developer website, he's encoding a video of an interview with you! I found it humorous.

Stef Geiger, do you know what formats are compatible with the PS3? I may be able to write a shell script that uses MEncoder and/or FFmpeg to make the whole experience simpler (as I have done with Wii video by making Motion JWii).

I don't have a wii either, but this application makes buying one very tempting! I think I had better start looking at prices.

@Maddles: Well, officially, it supports mpeg, mpeg2, mpeg4 and mpeg4 AVC. However, I've only had success encoding videos for it using mpeg streamclimp, and even then it's rather finicky. Sometimes Handbrake'll work. Oddly enough, ffmpegx has a few PSP video profiles, but they haven't implemented PS3 support yet. I don't know how much I can help you here, since it seems to be a more complicated matter than just the file types. Actually, even in mpeg streamclip it takes some fiddling with audio types etc.
