what a great idea! I'm forever forgetting to zap my apps and this would catch that!

Background application? If my job all day is installing and uninstalling programs then this might work for me. But I am content with doing the uninstall manually (doing a little file forensics in the preferences/cache folder) or using AppZapper when uninstalling some trial program--which *may* happen every 4 months or so.

Nice...
just installed and works great. Its has a little Ripoff flavor to it and I hope AppZapper adds this feature in the next release / update. Cause i still dont wanna miss the Interface (for multible zapping / app used overview).
The Zapp Sound is also something i would miss :)

This sounds great (and what would most likely be implemented in future OS X). Can't wait to try it. Thanks.

I use AppDelete http://reggie.ashworth.googlepages.com/appdelete and find it also a really cool tool. You can put it in the application bar and then drag and drop any app you wish to delete. I suggest this as an alternative (of course it is also completely free, don't know if open source as well).

Works great – for applications that lie in my user’s application directory. I’m not Admin on my machine, and the popup for logging in as admin when trashing a program in /Applications seems to block AppTrap’s own popup. Hence, not very useful for me … well, I’ll wait for a future release. Looks promising.

Very nice app! Thanks for the recommendation. I'm always looking for more ways to keep my Mac running smoothly, with as little clutter as possible.

I'll agree with Buckingham: as most people don't install/uninstall apps daily, it would be better to avoid having another background application/service running all the time.

I mailed with the dev, and he’ll look into AppTrap working properly for non-admin users. I guess there might be an update soon …

That window looks like a complete ripoff of the app uninstalling feature that just debuted in the new version of Hazel:

Hazel FTW!

You really should note that this background app saps more than 10 megs of memory (and that Hazel does the same thing with half the memory usage and ten times the features).

IT'S NOT FREE!
You can only use it five times, after that you have to pay $12.95...
