Bandwagon iTunes backup service 50% off on MacZOT today only
Bandwagon, the clever automated iTunes backup service (with a future promise of synching libraries), has certainly been making the discount news lately. Last week they whipped out a deal with DreamHost customers, and now their $24/year service is only $12 at MacZOT today only. I haven't had a chance to leave Bandwagon reliably running to get a good feel for how well it works. For the limited time I've been using it so far though, it has reliably been backing up my iTunes library to my FTP space at the steady upload bandwidth limit I set, and I'm on song 51 now.
While everyone at TUAW recommends you secure a good backup solution for all your data, Bandwagon is a great, simple option for alternatively backing up your iTunes library to FTP space that's just waiting for something to store. If you're interested though, you'd better jump on the deal because MacZOT offers discounts on each app for one day only; when they're gone, they're gone.

Bandwagon shouldn't even be called an alpha, let alone a beta. It pegs out one core and then crashes after an hour. I feel ripped off having paid $24 for this to be honest. I wouldn't pay $12 for this either until they sort out the crashing. What's the point of an online backup solution that crashes every hour?

Wait... what the hell?
I recently bought Bandwagon for $24 and got the DreamHost offer with it. I understand the DreamHost offer is running until July 31st. When I click "Buy" on MacZOT it gives me the option to include a Coupon Code...
So this means that I could've Bandwagon for $12 and have a year's worth of DreamHost Level 1 hosting... technically, $1 a month for DreamHost....
What the hell? Why didn't they do this earlier?

I got it through Dreamhost (1 year free). Let it run, uploaded about 1/4 of my library and then it hangs.
From then on it hangs at startup every time (and pegs the processor).
No time to deal with it. Bye bye Bandwargon.

Seriously, this is one of the worst pieces of Mac software I've ever used. DO NOT SPEND MONEY ON THIS - you'd feel ripped off if it was freeware.

@Marcos, sorry for your bad experience...we would definitely have reacted the same way. We hope you give us another chance. FTP Beta3 is being released this week.

I'm gonna stick with trying Mozy instead. Atleast that backs up the whole system, and so far it's been fairly solid.
-5 Points for linking to your own internal tag system instead of the bandwagon site again, simply because your marketing department assumes that actually works. In the end, you're helping yourself, not your users, and that's not the internet.

I agree... Linking to the TUAW internal tag system instead of the bandwagon site sucks. Maybe I should start looking for another Apple related blog. This one seems to get worse over time.
Please go back to your old ways.. Link to external sites. That info is relelvant to your readers and to your story. If we want to read old posts we can do a search. You want to offer an easy way for us to read old posts, provide an additional link for that purpose.
