Want an iPod shuffle and have way too much money?

There are some who look at Apple's industrial design and think, 'That's perfect! Nothing needs to be done,' and there are some who think, 'it looks nice but it could really use some gems.' That's how this $40,000 iPod Shuffle, called the iDiamond by the makers, was born.
I wonder how much a diamond iPhone would cost.

August 21 2007 at 3:07 AM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyDoubtless there are people who bought one just because it's what everyone else has, but why should that matter to ME? I didn't buy one because it was popular; I bought it because it's the best.
And if I ever found I cared at ALL what Paris Hilton uses, I'd go play in traffic.
This isn't for sale. It's made only to be shown at an exhibition in Norway some time in September. I read about it in the news yesterday, and the iPod is casted in 18 karat gold, with 430 hand attached diamonds on the player and the earbuds.
Apparently, the gold smith got an idea to make a necklace inspired by the earbuds, so you might be able to get that one though.
Only people like Paris Hilton will want one of this. iPod may be a good MP3 player, but too many people have them. Just like will you buy a dress that 60% of people in the street are wearing?

Or maybe those are a $5,000 accessory?
