Leopard welcome video in the wild
Well, lookey here. Someone has posted the welcome video that accompanies build 9A527 of Leopard to YouTube. Of course, we can't vouch for its validity, but it's very cool.
As the familiar music plays, we're hurtled through space - Time Machine style - while the word "Welcome" is displayed in several languages, finally landing on a large, silver "X." We love it.
One question: Is it October yet?
Thanks to everyone who sent this in!

Very Very cool! I think they have to change the music though, that was tigers music.

Why would they use the same music though? I hope they change the music. Its like a tradition. New intro, new song, new Desktop Picture. They already nixed the picture, hopefully they don't keep the same song too.

Actually there is a new desktop picture, it kind of looks like the time machine background! I would give you a link but I'm on my iPhone. Just go to MacRumors.com and it should be on the front page!
PS: I bet they will change the music before october, because it would be easy to do so because the music is separate file from the video in tiger.

Apple sure knows how to polish a product to a nice shiny finish. I love it.

Wow. Awesome. Reminds me of that awesome video for Jaguar with the galaxies and all that great stuff. I still want to know what the music was for that video...

How come there is no Arabic in the welcome texts...? It's one of the top 10 languages in the world.

These intro videos are not done (internally) at Apple. They give the job to a motiongraphic company in the U.S.
Leopard intro is pretty cool.

I can confirm it's legit. Same annoying music though, although that might change.

You love it. Wonderful. Personally, I think this video, which can't skip, at least not in Tiger, is entirely useless. If I am going to find that Leopard is cool, it definitely won't be because of some stupid narcissist video *telling* me that it is cool, but because I like using it.

i kinda like the music and glad they changed the wallpaper. I would like another gradient tho - it's just so mac. the again apple seems to be keen on revamping certain elements (like the apple key) that have become very associated with the macs.
i think it's time apple throws in a maximise mode. This would make it less shocking for windowa switchers and lets admit it - it can be useful. Why should i stretch a window manually to fill up all my available space (especially on a laptop). I can understand the arguments against it but i'd rather have the option rather than have it denied just cos it was too pc like.

such a shame the quality of the OS itself is nowhere near as polished. a true bugfest. but then, i should be used to this from apple by now... shiny shiny iCandy on the outside, but full of c*ap on the inside
