Do you think there will be a price drop in the iPod touch in the next 2 months?

On the US page the picture of the ipod touch playing a BMX video in the top right hand corner is the Bluetooth logo!!!
JR: WTFV
"Tap the home button twice, and volume and play controls appear."
The rewind/fast forward seems to work MUCH better (ie. faster when you touch the button longer) on iPod touch (same in iPhone?) than in OS X Quicktime Player: it continues to drive me nuts how SLOW rew/ff is in Quicktime Player.
Maybe Leo Quicktime Player can learn seomthing from little iPod touch.
iPod touch guy will be intern in the next Grey's Anatomy season, or something. He's so cute.
Have they even announced a remote for this iPodtouch yet? You know how much a pain in the ass (pardon my french) it's going to be to even MUTE the volume on this damn thing?
1) Take it out of your back pocket, bag, jacket, wherever you stuffed it
2) unlock it
3) open the music app / now playing screen
4) adjust the volume
this is pretty retarded. Heck, even the iphone had buttons on the side you could do some basic things with.
I'm almost red with rage that there was no mention of this at all in the keynote. It's another fine example of form over function with Apple products (and believe me, I'm one of the biggest Apple supporters and defenders out there, but this just boils my blood).
Nooo! They forgot the volume button on the side!!

I have no way to buy an iPhone that can actually use the phone (England, innit with no desire to open things up) so am interested in getting this. Could be quite fun to use some of the homebrew stuff like the NES emulator straight away on release. I'm hoping it literally is an iPhone without the phone. But the tech specs page for the iPod Touch don't have the "OS" section.
September 05 2007 at 6:33 PM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyWhat i want to know is whether you will have the ability to edit and add events and contacts on the go. I think that Apple is missing a selling point by not emphasizing these features more. I would love to have access to that from my iPod. Also, no student pricing on the new Classic or the Touch. That is incredibly irritating. Whats the point of having an educational discount if you arent going to honor it on the most popular products. Thank goodness for the Walt Disney Company corporate discount. And last but not least, I have some concerns over the speed of the 16GB model. My roommate worked for Hitachi on their hard drive division (he also knows about flash) and said that the 16GB flash memory is significantly slower than smaller capacities. I hope he is wrong. He also mentioned that they are at a size barrier. Makes me think it could be a long while before we see a larger Touch capacity. Just a couple things to think about. Would love to hear others thoughts.

I want the same CoverFlow implementation in OSX's iTunes, i.e. click an album and it flips around to show the songs contained within. That way I can have just CoverFlow showing instead of a CoverFlow window and list window.
