iPod Touch spotted in some stores
An eagle-eyed and (understandably) excited reader let us know that the Apple Store Somerset in Troy, Michigan had a few iPod Touches for sale ahead of the September 28th ship date. A quick call to the store revealed Dan was right, they had 14 in stock but were already sold out. The store employee said that some retail stores, particularly on the East coast, have been receiving shipments already. He said that though they're mainly designed to be floor models, stores have been selling them to customers as well. He says the rolling shipments are expected to continue until the 28th when all the retail shops will have them in stock.
The Apple Store employee added one last thought before the call was ended. "They're so worth the wait," he said.

damn i havent ordered mine yet!
original plan was to wait until the announcement on the 18th to see where they're going with the iPhone, but i think i might just bite the bullet and order one.
also, i think the plural of iPod touch should be iPods touch, like Governers General

i live in michigan but i didnt know about that!! anyways does anyone know how many ipod touches are shipping? will i be able to pick one up on the 28 or will i have to fight for one before it gets sold out??

Yeh Im not so much concerned about the Ipod Touch I just need to know if I can have the WiFi Itunes on my iPhone now.

I picked one up today at the Montgomery Mall Apple Store in Bethesda, MD -- so far it's been great, I'm especially linking the WiFi music store.

Got mine at The Grove in West Hollywood. One of the first I believe. Even the staff said they hadn't seen one yet! Woo!

I got mine today at the Easton Apple store in Columbus... Many thanks to TUAW for tipping me off, otherwise I wouldn't have known. I can confirm that WiFi store is up and running on these. Now if we can just get people away from the "iTouch" mis-name-- even Apple store employees are calling it that.. its an iPod touch people!

What the hell is wrong with you people. I really, really want the touch that I pre-ordered. I also can't have an iPhone where I live...we have no AT&T. Also, the touch is the best "iPod" ever...not phone-pod...and the touch has 16GB of flash...which the iPhone will probably get soon enough. I'd love to have an iPhone, but I can't...so I'll settle for the best "iPod" I can get. Bye. On another note...when my iPod dies from heavy use...I still have a phone. Bye, again.
