Uncle Steve keeps raking it in
Forbes magazine has released its annual Forbes 400 list of the richest Americans and our favorite CEO is #56 with an estimated worth of $5.7 billion. Although Steve Jobs' worth increased around $800m since last year, his ranking actually slipped from #49. I don't think I'll shed a tear, however. Needless to say, Bill Gates remains at number one with a measly $59b.[via MacNN]

You'd think with that much money between them, they'd both be better dressed/groomed.

My wife and I recently decided that for every billion dollars we make, we are going to give a random person $1,000,000...
I mean, if you do the math that is like $1 out of $1,000... And I would give that away easily!
So, in conclusion, I think Steve Jobs should give me $1,000,000

Well, I guess he can give me $999,900 since he gave me $100 already!

bill gates is totally my favorite CEO. the man's incredible. say what you will about microsoft or how he looks or [insert vitriol]. he and his wife have given away over $29 billion and convinced warren buffet to give away just as much. i'm sorry, but that's so beautiful that it brings a tear to my eye. give the man some credit.

@weeee: Oh, please. Half of what-might-as-well-be-infinity is still infinity. A "Thanks, Bill" is nice, and deserved, but gushing praise? Nah.

Aron gets my vote for the cash. (1) for the idea and (2) for asking. Nothing ever happens unless you are willing to ask. Go Aron!

@Rhywun : Maybe its not about the sacrifice in the Gate's case, but about the fact that they must've done so much good with that money, and they didn't have to.
