Radioshift 1.0

Radioshift is the latest app from those audio obsessed fellows at Rogue Amoeba. Thanks the to included Radio Guide, which has over 50,000 internet streamed radio programs listed, this app allows you to find your favorite radio show and record it. The power of the app is that it doesn't just record the program once, but it will record every instance of the program. Your favorite radio show airs once a week? Set Radioshift to record the stream and forget it (until it starts to play on your iPod thanks to Radioshift's ability to add the shows to iTunes).
It is worth mentioning that Radioshift, out of the box, only records radio shows that offer up an internet stream. You can combine it with the radio SHARK to record Over the Air programs as well though.
Radioshift costs $32, and has a free trial available.

That's a pretty serious price point to enter the market with. Yikes!
Love Audio Hijack Pro & Airfoil, though.

Yeah, why not just audio hijac the ones in itunes? I don't think auto record is worth 40$!!!

If it supported XM Radio Online out of the box, I'd consider buying it so I could get my daily Opie & Anthony fix a bit easier...

Lovely interface, but I agree the price point is high. If the stream you want isn't available on iTunes there are plenty of ways of getting the URL you need for Audio Hijack... All this does is make the process easier and nicer to look at...

Loving the idea - it's potentially much neater than my current cron + perl + mplayer + lame solution.
But,... the app never connects to the "Radioshift Helper" for me (1.4G G4 Mini).

I've been using Audio HiJack Pro for exactly this reason for two years now. Radioshift looks very good and if I was starting from scratch right now I would consider it.
What I haven't figured out yet is whether or not the send to iTunes can be automatic (which I can do in AHP) or if it's manual. If it's the latter I wouldn't buy it. The great thing about my current setup with AHP is that it essentially turns all the radio I want to listen to into Podcasts. They all automatically land on my player.
AHP 3 is also coming I wonder if it will include the features of RadioShift.

Awesome idea, such a useful thing if I can auto record Pete Tong every Friday on Radio 1.

FWIW, as far as I can see the send to iTunes thing is manual. Also, recording Pete Tong or any other show can also be automated through AHP, it just takes a bit more setting up in the first place.
I'm still trying to understand where this product beats AHP to be honest - apart from making the process slightly slicker, the basic functions don't seem that far apart (if anything AHP is a bit more advanced).

I also use Audio Hijack Pro to do exactly this. I love it. Radioshift sounds like it maybe simplifies finding the streams, but, in the end, does less than AHP and costs the same. Am I missing something?

Just used AHP to do exactly what Radioshift says it could do for $32...record BBC1 morning streams.
This would be a decent product for someone who finds AHP to be too technical. Of course, AHP is $32 as well, so the value if you understand Audio Hijack is obvious.
For $10, I would have made the purchase to continue RA support. Guess my $$$ is waiting for AHP 3 (which will be a $16 upgrade, by the by).

I can already do this with iRecordMusic and it works with any web-site so it can record XM satellite radio.
