Ditto. I also love iWeb. After wasting countless hours on html iWeb allowed me to spend my time on content rather than layout, including
blogging.
However, the bugs and bumps do annoy me (not being able to publish from two domain files anymore, unable to publish at all due to vague rss error, incredibly slow dotmac speed, wrong colors in
templates etcetera). It makes me feel I'm locked in (can't publish, too much work to rebuild sites from scratch elsewhere).
iWeb is still the best site-builder around, so I don't mind being locked in, providing it works as it is supposed to. Hopefully 2.0.2 fixes my problems.

I love iWeb. I coded my first websites by hand which was a ridiculous and tedious waste of time. Anybody who worries what the underlying code looks like needs to get out more.

2. A software package like iWeb will never, ever, write completely elegant code. Not that humans always will and do either, but simply trusting a program to generate your HTML is folly. Many programs add superfluous waffle to code that adds to page weights - not necessarily a problem in this broadband era, but nonetheless, cluttered code is cluttered code.
I'm a professional web developer, but iWeb has a useful place for very small businesses and individuals who just want a website without having to spend hours on it.
I had issues with iWeb 2 crashing during the second export to a folder every time... Let's hope this fixes it.
I'm using iWeb 1 doing "back end" html additions until iWeb 2 does what I need. No problem, I'll wait patiently.
Learning full html interests me in the least. That's like learning DOS instead of using a paintbrush. I'll wait until the tools are perfected so I can rely on visual skills. I know enough to make a few changes here and there.
iWeb is great, and will only get better. But they do have some work to do. I may experiment with this new upgrade, but not put my sites at risk like I did at first. My only advice, backup those domain files and test it only on copies!!!!!
question: i love iweb's functionality, but i desperately want a website page where the menu only has to load once, i.e. one page with pages within it. i cannot for the life of me learn html or flash, so is there something that offers iweb's wysiwyg greatness but with this feature (but is not template based like rapidweaver)?
thanks,
m
