With
version 1.1 just around the corner, it's a perfect time to pick up a
VMware Fusion license, and
Smith Micro (friendly publisher of many Mac utils) wants to sweeten the pot by offering a $20 rebate on Fusion purchases. Nice enough, but what if you wanted an extra $10 off the purchase price? Well, for new Google Checkout customers, scootch over to
buy.com and take that $10 off; you can pick up Fusion for a cool $31.11, free shipping included. Academic users can probably find comparable discounts at the campus computer store.
If you do buy Fusion, be sure to fill out your rebate forms carefully, and don't forget to check the little box telling Smith Micro not to bother you with promotional mailings and email. Otherwise, you're liable to get weekly offers for Stuffit Deluxe and FAXstf.
Thanks JohnE

Will I be able to upgrade for free to Version 1.1 when it comes out if I buy this?

Chris,
The great part is that 1.1 doesn't require a purchase to upgrade... it's free (think service-pack).
Very tempting, as I'm currently on Parallels 3.0 and wouldn't mind testing the VMWare waters with 1.1.

Do you have any idea if similar offers are available to us on the other side of the Atlantic? (Europe : )

FYI: I recently got a copy of stuffit expander. Those scumbags make you type in your email to get the download. I've had this email account for over 3 years spam free and then all of a sudden, I'm getting spam like crazy the same day I give the stuffit people my email address.
Just something to consider.

Unfortunately, the Buy.com does not ship to Canada :-(. Now when loonie > greenback, the $31 would be especially nice deal.
