Photo of the Leopard Retail DVD
Only two more sleeps left until we can get our hands on Leopard, Apple's latest version of OS X. The good folks at Hardmac.com have managed to snap some pictures of the retail version of Leopard, just in case you can't wait any longer.Ah, you know we're getting close when we post a link to a picture of a DVD.

WooHoo!!! Mine shows it has shipped and is on its way from Schuamberg, IL.
Dammit... I used to live 30 minutes from there... now I'm in the Pacific Northwest.
I wonder if the Mac OS 10.5 Up-To-Date discs will be identical to the retail ones? Or if they'll modify the Up-To-Date discs to remove the PowerPC installers and require an existing installation of 10.4?
I ordered mine online from Apple here in Canada. Received an e-mail last night (24th, 2300 hrs) that said it was shipped priority overnight and should be here today (25th). No tracking information yet on Purolator but they always seem to have a slow system.

I really hope to see this somewhere BEFORE I install my copy. (Pre ordered from Amazon for the $109.00 and no shipping, but I wont be installing for about 2+ weeks). How FAST is this OS compared to Tiger. I'm on a first gen iMac Intel Core Duo. And if 10.5 will run faster than 10.4, all other things being equal, I would really like to know. Thanks

It reminds me of a background that a twelve-year-old might have used for his first web site back around 1995. I'm hoping there's another variation on the abstract blues they've been using forever that I can switch to as soon as I install Leopard.
October 24 2007 at 10:16 PM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyThanks, guys. Ya, with priority overnite I'm not too worried now, I didn't notice that before.
Is it shipping Fed-Ex? What time should I expect it?
I'm happy to see that the disc is actually secured to something. IIRC, every other version of OS X came in one of those flimsy envelopes in a great big box. I had at least two experiences where the disc was bouncing around in the box, getting all scratched up because it got out of the envelope.

sorry i look stupid.
thought you had found the american box.
still resellers already have the stock here in paris, and we are not quite in the same time zone as cupertino so i guess, that maybe, as they say, they'll give it away earlier.
i'll go give it a try tomorrow, who knows.
