Triangles back on the Leopard Dock

Turns out it's not super hard to do-- inside the Dock app folder, there's just three .png files that serve as "Dock indicators," so all you have to do is change those (definitely back up what's there, however), and you should be in business. The Dock now scales those indicators based on size, so there's three files to replace-- at your own risk, natch-- and you're all set.
Thanks, Mike!

Software Hacks How-tos Tips and tricks Odds and ends Leopard
Ever since we first saw the new Dock with its reflective surfaces and little glowing lights under open apps, people have gotten nostalgic...

I hated the new dots at first but now i love them. If you want to know how to change your leopard dock's color, google "dockcolor".

defaults write com.apple.Dock no-glass -boolean YES
killall Dock
To go back to default, type these commands:
defaults write com.apple.Dock no-glass -boolean NO
killall Dock
I really like the look and feel of the 2D dock...
The dock does not bother me. I auto-hide it at the bottom. I have used the hack for a more "classic" dock but I prefer the bling dock.
I do not understand why people think that the dock is bad UI. I find it very useful. I also do not understand why people think that the X in the corner of a window should actually close an application. I 'get' why Mac OS works that way, actually services/applications wise the way that Windows handles that is much more confusing, but maybe you have to be a Windows Admin (like I am) to get that or even have it matter. It is about multi-tasking, but OS X is a lot more sophisticated at multi-tasking than Windows is.
i really didnt like the 3d dock and lights. but when i killed the dock with terminal to get the "classic" dock, the lights are really toned down and i really like them

Nonsense. What functional difference is there apart from Stacks? I'll give you ONE point, and that is the blue dots. I like those. They're clearly and instantly visible. But none of your other arguments holds much water. The perspective *IS* wrong on the shelf, especially the divider's. It's distracting and it's ugly. I'm no snobby designer. I don't just go around calling stuff "hideous" the way some reactionary types do. It's harder to look at and find instantly what you want. With a 2-D dock with a clearly delineated edge (such as Leopard's 2-D dock) you can instantly find a specific icon against a busy background.
And next time, try not to flog your blog (hey, that rhymes!) so heavily. One post is enough.
Am I the only one who started hearing "Hypnotize?" I like the lights better than the triangles (which for me were hard to see against dark desktop backgrounds), but agree that they look better in the 2D dock.

There are aspects of the new Dock that make it more functional, not less, than the 2D dock:

Forget the dock, someone tell me why my Menu Bar is solid and not transparent. One look at discussion forums indicates that there are many makes and models of Macs out there whose transparent menu bar never got flipped on...Very odd.
