Leopard camera RAW formats list
In the run up to Leopard Apple mentioned that they were adding support for more camera RAW formats, but it wasn't exactly clear which models would be supported. The final list is now available in this Apple Support Document. This means that native support for these cameras' RAW file format is in OS X and certain imaging applications, most importantly, Aperture. As it happens I was delighted to discover that my Panasonic DMC-FZ50 made the list after not being supported in Tiger. If you've been waiting for Apple to add RAW support for your camera you'll probably want to check it out.[via MacVolPlace]

Actually aperture does not directly support ANY image formats. Core image manages all that stuff, and that is part of the OS!
Olympus E-510
Yep! I waited for this :-)
They still didn't see fit to fix their broken DNG support. Still no support for linear DNG files.
It would be much better if there were no RAW file support at all. iPhoto refuses to import files it doesn't recognize, instead of just importing them anyway and using the embedded JPEG previews that are already present. I will never use iPhoto to actually do RAW conversion anyway, so I don't actually care whether it supports anything, I just want it to take the file and use the existing preview.
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGHHHHHHHH
(Pentax *ist DL2 owner). Hrmph.
I have written a simple applescript application that will convert all DL2 PEFs in a selected folder to DL PEFs that OS X...and therefore Aperture.. will be able to recognise. If you want me to send you a copy, just email me on davepalethorpe@gmail.com
Hopefully this will help other DL2 owners out there!!
@3 The OS level support is also what dictates what iPhoto and Aperture can read, they just use the OS level calls.

I wish apple would add support for the Sigma cameras. I used to shoot Sigma, and they produced great pictures. When My gear was stolen, I decided to move to Nikon, but I wish I could bring all those pics into Aperture (without have to convert them all). In reality I guess I just have to use lightroom if I want Sigma support.

Lightroom/Aperture/others are far better image browsers and it's not like I have much use for copying individual raw files around without export to JPG or something...

Now if only Apple would come out with an update asap to fix the issue with Leopard not reading image file formats properly, such as JPEG, which keeps crashing Aperature and iPhoto 08.
