TUAW Talkcast #14: Leopard Hangover

Last week's live talkcast featured a rundown of Leopard install and feature experiences with bloggers Christina Warren, Mat Lu, and side notes from Erica Sadun. You can download the show directly, pick it up in our RSS or iTunes feeds, or stream it direct from Talkshoe.

For Sunday night's live show, 11/11 at the new 10pm ET start time, we're hoping to try a new 'open phones' format to capture some of the slightly wacky energy that characterizes our aftershow conversations. Hope you can join us then (possibly with a special guest host!). Note that the Talkshoe client is now updated to work with Leopard, so once you launch it the necessary files should download automatically.

Brian: See comments to last week's show. It's not the processing power that's the problem, per se -- it's my time availability. In the early shows we had extensive complaints about audio quality, so it's no longer acceptable to post the raw Talkshoe feed and call it a day.

I'm trying to push the edit earlier in the week as best I can, and also streamline my edit process; I'm currently using Audacity, which is fast and capable but not necessarily the easiest program to learn, and I'll be testing out Wiretap Studio, Fission, Ubercaster and GarageBand for a post at some point comparing audio editors.

If we have any experienced podcasters out there who can give me a crash course in faster editing, I would be most appreciative (not as appreciative as if someone volunteered to edit the show for me... :-)

Why does it take 6 days to get this ready for the web site. Are you encoding on a 1 mhz processor ?
