I was hoping the logitech Z-5500 speakers would be on sale.
Nope.
By the way, are there any other 5.1 computer speakers on the market
that have an optical digital input?

Meh. The discounts for most of the stuff don't do much to dent the normal prices.

Office:Mac can be had for $125 at Amazon, and the $100 rebate is good there too.
Airport Express sells at Amazon for $82 every day there too.
Lastly, a *FAMILY PACK* of iWork 2008 sells for $100 on Amazon which is a lot cheaper than I think Apple sells it for.

Too bad that the MS Office rebate isn't applicable in other countries then the US.

Sorry that should have been iWork Family Pack for $80, not $100, at Amazon.com:

Only the US store... Stupid Apple, no discount in europe, instead, they're trying to rip us off with a 1000-euro iPhone.

No discounts on iTouch or iPhone?
If you have a corp discount, it appears the discounts get piled on top so you get a double discount. Not many other folks do that.

For #6:
A .Mac account is cheaper if you get it through Amazon.com anyway. Had Apple discounted .Mac, I doubt it'd been much ceheaper than the Amazon.com price.
I was surprised to see that the new Apple Keyboard was *NOT* discounted at all. It's even part of the red graphic, but it's not on sale. Bummer.
Oh well, I know the wireless/Bluetooth Mighty Mouse will now be in my stocking this Christmas thanks to this discount. Thanks, President Jobs!

Do you get the discount today on top of the education discount?

You're better off just buying from the Apple Refurb store.

Well, they got me hook line and sinker -- 24" iMac with Core2Duo Extreme -- with 1 GB of memory. I'm not paying highway robbery for 4GB ($850? Not in this lifetime!). That I ordered from someone else. :-)

I agree, no price drops good enough to make me buy something. It would be nice if I was already planning a purchase anyway, but the only thing that would have gotten me to buy would be a huge discount on a nano or iPod touch.
As for those outside the US, do you guys have Black Friday as well? I assumed it was a strictly US phenomenon, being based on one of our holidays.

@8 and @10: I have a corp discount, which is essentially an education discount, and this sale doesn't really change the usual prices (the sale discounts are not cumulative).
For example
Wireless mighty mouse:
Reg price @ normal store: $69
BF sale price @ normal store: $58 (save $11)
Reg price @ corp store: $52
BF sale price @ corp store: $52 (save $0)

@PSM: We have the sale on the Canadian site, even though we don't have Thanksgiving at the same time as you in the US.
Due to the nearly equal USD/CAD dollar, the prices are the same on both sides this year.

The Black Friday discounts are available in Canada as well.
Click on the "Let the holidays begin" banner below the iMac and MacBook. You can save up to $111.00 CDN on the MacBook and the iMac. Still makes the MacBook $150 more that the US price even though our currencies are near par.
